Coming into this book, I had very high expectations. Prior to buying it, I had read several great reviews applauding it for being so funny and a “right hand jab to the music industry.” I must have missed something because I didn’t see any of that. The book is a memoir about Mr. Kennedy’s 18 months of employment in the marketing department of a major record label. While it did contain some amusing inter-office anecdotes, the humor did not hold up much for me. I found his internal ramblings on what he should bring with him to a meeting that he was 20 minutes late for to be forced and trying too hard to be comical.
Overall, it was a semi-enjoyable read, but I think it will be traded on PaperBackSwap very soon instead of finding a permanent home in our collection.
